When I first got this set in my hands, I could not put it down. There are so many ideas floating around in my head. The set has several images that are designed to give a water color result without actually doing that technique. With a little imagination, one stamp becomes something completely different. Here are my cards.
I live in Arizona and I chose the designer paper and colors in it, to reflect how our mountains look when the sun is setting. I used Painted With Love Specialty Designer Series Paper (# 145580) as my background, and Rich Razzleberry card stock (# 115316) as a base. A piece of Copper Foil (# 142020) was used for the layer around the focal image. Inks used are Rich Razzleberry
(# 126950), Crumb Cake (# 126975) Pool Party (# 126982) Chocolate Chip (# 126979) and Wild Wasabi (# 126959).
This card reminds me of how our desert looks when the spring season begins. Fields of wildflowers, with a few watering areas and small lakes. Card stock is Soft Suede (# 115318) and Early Espresso (# 119686). Inks used are So Saffron (# 126957) Marina Mist stamped off once and twice (# 126962) Soft Suede
(# 126978) Daffodil Delight (# 126944) Peekaboo Peach (# 141398) and Soft Sky (# 131181). The "flowers" were made using the dotted image in the set, and I used random colors in reds, yellows, blues and greens.
This card is a much brighter version and my idea was to show off our northern Arizona areas, where we have gorgeous mountain views, pine trees and the most glorious sunsets and sunrises. They take your breath away. The main mountain image you see here is actually a water image, but I turned it upside down to make a mountain. I stamped in Basic Gray Archival Ink (# 140932) and used it full strength for the middle mountain, and stamped off once for the side mountains. This gives more depth to the viewer. Other inks used are: Cajun Craze (# 126965) Wild Wasabi (# 126959) Crushed Curry (# 131173) Daffodil Delight (# 126944) Peekaboo Peach (# 141398) Pumpkin Pie (# 126945) Tranquil Tide
(# 144085) Sweet Sugarplum (# 141395). Card stock used is Wild Wasabi (# 108641) and Basic Black (# 121045)
I grew up in Chicago and moved to Arizona 15 years ago. My inspiration came from Kim Jolley, another demonstrator, and this is my take on our Chicago skyline, near Olive Park. I did this on watercolor paper (# 122959) and used Basic Black Archival Ink
(# 14931) Smoky Slate (# 131179) Soft Sky (# 131181) Rich Razzleberry (# 126950) and Pool Party (# 126962) To give more dimension to the waterfront I added a touch of Bermuda Bay Stampin' Write Marker and just drew a heavier line to bring out the edge of the water to the city skyline. A white gel pen makes the windows on the buildings. Card stock used us Marina Mist
(# 119682) and Basic Black (# 121045)
I have always wanted to see Alaska, and the beautiful Northern Lights. So, I decided to finally try my hand at making a card I could dream about. The card stock used is Lemon Lime Twist
(# 144245) and Night of Navy (# 100867). Stamped on Shimmery White card stock (# 101910) I used ink colors of Lemon Lime Twist (# 144086) Night of Navy (# 126970) Rich Razzleberry
(# 126950) and Basic Gray Archival Ink (# 140932) To get this effect, I sponged everything with our Stamping Sponges
(# 141337). These are essential tools in my craft room, because I love to sponge! You get 3 large sponges in a package, and I cut each one into quarters. These make the perfect size to work with. The little stars in the sky were put there, using a white gel pen, but you could also use our White Stampin' Chalk Marker (# 132133)
So there you have it. This stamp set is a must have. Even if you've never stamped before, this set makes it easy. The images are perfect the way they're intended, but even more wonderful, when your imagination begins to soar!
