Artistically Asian

I've had this set from the annual catalog for awhile now, and decided it was time to play with it. Such a beautiful set; perfect for friendship and encouragement.. I really felt like the soft and gentle look of these flowers, deserved a pop of color.  I used the 2016-17 In Color markers and inked the stamps directly with them.  I love this technique; I don't know why I don't do it more often.  Here's my cards:

Flirty Flamingo, Peekaboo Peach and Very Vanilla card bases, paired with papers from the Playful Pallet DSP pack, seem to go perfectly.  And black always looks good behind a focal point; it makes the colors just pop. I hope you enjoyed today's cards.

The Occasions catalog is still in full swing until May 31st, but the Sale-a-bration promotion is ending March 31st.  The Tin and Glimmer Paper Stack are already gone I'm afraid, but there's still plenty of other great items you can get free with a qualifying order.  Check out my online store today.

Until next time, happy stamping and enjoy your day!

Hey Chick!

One of my favorite Sale-a-bration stamp sets is Hey Chick.  It's free with a qualifying order through March 31st.  It's a perfect "girlfriend" set and can be used for many occasions.  Here's my card:
I just love the images in this set.  That funky chick on top is photo bombing her friends. It looks like the "old lady" in the middle is yelling at her to behave, doesn't it? I used Sahara Sand card stock, and stamped the front with the Hardwood stamp, trying to get the texture to look like a chicken coop. The gals are colored with our new Watercolor Pencils, found in the Occasions catalog until May 31st.
The inside of the card is just plain and sweet.  I used the Blossom Builder punch to cut out the little egg.

Thanks for stopping by today.  I hope you have a fantastic day.  Until next time, happy stamping!

Birthdays are Awesome

This is my second post for today.  It's my birthday, and I wanted to tell you how blessed I am to have such wonderful friends! Just look at all these beauties I received. Friday, 2 dear friends treated me to lunch at Cheesecake Factory and my desert was the yummy Hazelnut Crunch Cheesecake.  It's so rich and chocolate-y...a perfect birthday treat.  But you cannot eat it in one sitting.  So, a few bites there, then a few bites the next day and it was all gone on the 3rd day.  What a treat!  These same lovely ladies are in my Stampin' Up! down line, so they created beautiful cards for me.  Here they are:

Kathy's card (above) uses the Hexagon embossing folder and some retired SU card stock.  Just look at the detail on those flowers.  She was one of the first people to find me on my SU website, almost 7 years ago. We've been the best of friends ever since.  And, she just joined SU as a demonstrator to help me earn the Alaskan Cruise in 2018.  I am so lucky to have her in my circle of friends.
Christina is our "glitter girl".  I love glitter too, and for someone who had no experience in stamping when we first met, she sure knows how to create some gorgeous things.  Would you believe this is a napkin?  She peels the layers apart, then uses adhesive sheets, places the napkin on top, and smooths it out. Then she adds the SU Heat and Stick powder, heats it up, adds glitter and heats it again.  Just look at this beautiful result!  The picture here does not do it justice; it's stunning in person.

I even received birthday cards from our own Shannon West who works at the Corporate office in Salt Lake City.  And, Ruth Norton, who is a blog friend from Albuquerque NM sent me a card as well. Here they are:
Shannon has been making cards for just about everyone and had a goal to make 2000.  I'm sure she has done so and look at how cute this is?  Thank you Shannon, I love it !

Ruth's card is just too cute, isn't it? Using Peekaboo Peach card stock, and some new items from our Occasions catalog, this card just makes me happy.  I love the snippet of the doily under the sentiment too.  Thanks so much Ruth; I love this one and was so surprised to receive it.

Yes, friends....I am one lucky lady.  I am so thankful for all my wonderful friends.  I really do not know what I would do without them. Thank you all for making me feel so special!

Taco Tuesday

My daughter lives in Illinois and she and her friend always go for tacos on Tuesday.  It's sort of a tradition.  So, what better card to send each of them than this one?
This is one of the sets you can get FREE with a qualifying order until March 31st.  It's part of our Sale-a-bration promotion and it's just too cute.  See the little tacos on the truck?  The sentiments reads "Let's taco about how awesome you are".  I think they'll like it, don't you?
This set has more goodies than tacos. You will find cupcakes, hot dogs, a cake and ice cram cones too! What a darling set; even for cards for the kids.
Hope you like it.  Check this set and other free items at my online store.  Hurry, these free items end March 31st.  If you don't have a demonstrator, I'd be happy to send you a catalog.  Email me or call me today.  Until next time, have a happy day!

Celebrate YOU

Hello again,
The other day it was "Beautiful You"; today it's time to Celebrate You.  This is another card we made in January and it is almost an exact copy of the sample in our Occasions catalog. Sometimes, you just don't need to change something, when it's so great in the first place.  Here's my card:
Happy Celebrations is a great set that has great fonts, words, and "swooshes".  Those are the little watercolor designs you see here.  The set coordinates with a great embossing folder called Celebrations Duo.  Most embossing folders give you a raised result; this one gives you an inverted result and I couldn't be happier.  You emboss first, then stamp over the area, and look how fantastic this is! It just pops off the card.  We used Peekaboo Peach and Daffodil Delight inks, then added some Crushed Curry Baker's Twine and some of the new Sprinkles Embellishments. This stamp set has 22 photopolymer stamps, and includes 13 words and sentiments. Check it out on my online store today!
Thanks for stopping by.  I love to read comments, so feel free to leave me some. Happy day!

Beautiful You

Hello and welcome, beautiful you!
This is one of my favorite stamp sets in the current Occasion catalog.  I am hoping they will carry this over to the annual catalog that comes in June.  What a gorgeous set. There are so many cards you can make with this set.  This was one of the cards we made at my January stamp camp.

I used a piece of By the Sea designer paper, and chose a pattern that resembled the ocean waves. Using the paper instead of sponging the water made for a quick card. We either cut or tore the edges of the paper and glued it on top of a piece of Sahara Sand card stock, stamped with the grainy stamp in the Timeless Textures stamp set. Using a scallop circle piece of card stock, we sponged the clouds with a very light touch with Soft Sky ink.  Our lady is front and center and she is snipped out and raised up a little on dimensionals. Such a fun card to make.  There are plenty of wonderful sentiments in this stamp set, and I chose "Life may not be the party we'd hoped for, but while we're here, we might as well dance".
Thanks for stopping by today.  If you do not already have a demonstrator, I'd be happy to get you your own copy of our Occasions catalog. Hurry though; it expires May 31, 2017. Until next time, have a happy day!
