Roses for Brenda

Hi my friends! Welcome to my blog.  I hope you are having a good new year so far.  And here it is, another month gone. February is just around the corner.

Today I wanted to share a card I made for a woman in our neighborhood. Our community has a Facebook page, and we just found out that one of our neighbors has just been diagnosed with colon cancer.  I have not had the pleasure of meeting Brenda, but I offered to make a giant card, that everyone can sign. Brenda loves roses, so some of us are buying rose bushes, or donating money to buy them, and several of the neighbors will be planting roses in her yard for her to see every day. Our spring here in Arizona will arrive very soon, so they should be ready to bloom pretty quickly.  I thought the Rose Wonder stamp set, paired with the beautiful Floral Boutique designer series paper, would make a nice card.

Because the card is so large, I couldn't use the Envelope punch board to make an envelope. I just measured the card, and made a pocket to insert the card.  I also used Wisteria Wonder for the card base, with a Night of Navy layer.  I colored the rose with Wisteria Wonder and the leaves with Pear Pizzaz and Always Artichoke.  It's hard to see here, but the Wink of Stella pen in clear, gives the rose a little sparkle.

I hope this card cheers Brenda up; she has a heavy road ahead. If you can, please say a little prayer for her.  I'm sure she and her family will appreciate all the prayers sent their way.

Thanks for stopping by today.  Until next time....

  1. Bobbi, I know she and your other neighbors will appreciate this lovely card as well as the gestures of rose plants. Sounds like she will have lots of support during the long road ahead... TFS...
