November Stamp Camp

Hello and welcome!  I hope you're ready for turkey day. Thanksgiving is here and nothing is better than spending quality time with family and friends.  My brother just moved to Arizona 4 weeks ago, and he hasn't had a home cooked Thanksgiving meal in years. Guess who's cooking?  Yes, I sure am and it will be fun.  Just the hubby, brother and me.  Can't wait for all those yummy dishes. And the best part is the turkey sandwiches the next day.  :-)

I wanted to show you the cards we made last weekend.  We had a full house and I'm happy to say, 2 new ladies attended.  We had a great time as always.  Here's our cards:

I really like the Sweater embossing folder.  This card took minutes to create. The secret to getting a good embossing is to slightly spritz your card with water and dry it before you run it through the Big Shot.  That delicate mist gently breaks the fibers, just enough to get a good, deep impression.
A non traditional color Christmas card. Sweet Sugarplum with shimmer card stock.  This set is just beautiful. I love the sentiments as well as the images.  We heat embossed the star with white embossing powder, then gently sponged Sweet Sugarplum over the top. A final stamp with the "swish" in the set, with a few stars and we were done.  The Sweet Sugarplum framelit and then the silver Glimmer paper smaller star framelit, finishes the card so beautifully.  I CASE'd this card from my friend, France Martin.  Her blog is www.frenchiestamps.com

Another non-traditional card using Pool party. I did use some retired punches for this card, but it still looks great, don't you think?
Presents & Pinecones. The designer paper here is just beautiful.  Paired with the Pinecones framelits, it makes  a perfect winter card.
There's a set of designer papers in the annual catalog called This Christmas.  Don't pass this paper by, because you will be sorry.  It's a larger package of paper than usual, and a bit more expensive. But believe me, the patterns on this paper are so pretty. These stripes are on one side of another gorgeous design.  Another quick card to make; using the new Bell punch and matching stamp set.

Well, there you have it.  I am enjoying all the time I get to play in my craft room.  I've decided to do more with my Stampin' Up! hobby, and turn it more into a business.  I'm loving this retirement thing; who wants to go back to work?: My goal is to win the incentive trip for 2018 - An Alaskan cruise.  That's been on my bucket list for years.  I hope I can do enough to make it. If not, I'll sure have a lot of fun trying!

Happy Thanksgiving!
