Last of the Christmas Creations

Hi friends! Well, today is Dec 22 and Christmas is just 3 days away.  Are you still busy shopping, baking and wrapping?  Luckily for me, my grand kids only want money or gift cards, so my shopping consists of buying stamps to mail them. Hubby and I don't usually exchange gifts; we both have so much already, there's not too many new things we need.  But we always do have a Christmas party at our home with close friends. We did that last Saturday and we had such a great time.  It started out small, but this time, we had 16 guests so it was really like a family and home Christmas to me. Great food, lots of laughs and yummy deserts!  Christmas Day we are going to lay low, in our sweats, watch movies and I'll make a quiet dinner for hubs and me.
It occurred to me that I did have one more Christmas creation to show you.  At my last stamp camp of the year, we made 2 cards using the Wonderland stamp set, which I showed you earlier.  I forgot to show you the note card set and holder. So here it is:

Very Vanilla note cards and envelopes are great for making a quick set of cards as a hostess gift. The paper used is Home for Christmas and we punched out different designs from the paper and adhered them to a scallop circle punch out.  The folder is 8-1/2 X 11 Real Red card stock, scored down the center, then flipped on the side and scored at 2-1/2 inches.  You adhere just the outer edges to make the pockets.  Four note cards fit nicely on one side, while the envelopes fit great on the other side. A quick punch using the 1/4 inch circle punch, and a piece of twine hold it all closed. This entire set was completed in about 20 minutes.  A great way to use up designer paper.
Well, this will be my last post for the 2015 Holiday catalog.  It retires at the end of the month, and I am anxious to create something with my 2016 Occasions pre-order and Sale-a-bration catalogs. If I get finished with something before the end of the year, I'll give you a sneak peek.  Otherwise, I'm looking forward to sharing them with you in January.
Merry Christmas to you all. And my best wishes for a safe, healthy and Happy New Year!  Hugs!

It's a Wonderland

Hello and welcome! Today I am showing you some cards I made from one of my favorite sets in the Stampin' Up! holiday catalog. Sadly, this set is retiring at the end of the month, but I love the trees so much in this set, that I may just have to keep it for awhile.  It's called Wonderland and it even has a matching set of designer paper called Winter Wonderland. Here's what I made.
I used a large Silver Doily for the background of the focal point. The trees were stamped on white card stock using Black Archival ink. The Winter Wonderland dsp is layered with our Silver Foil card stock, and finished off with some Dazzling Details in Silver, and some silver thread and Metallic Pearls.
This was my first attempt. I tried using Archival Black ink directly onto the dsp, but the trees came out a little light. But then I looked at it and thought "actually, it looks like the trees have a little bit of snow on them". So I went with it and used this scrap to make this card.
Here I used the large Gold Doily and masked off the edges with post it notes.  I wanted it to appear like the trees were popping out of the doily. I think it worked out well.  Again, using the Winter Wonderland dsp, and a layer of black card stock, this was a quick card to make.  However, you can never have too much glitter. So out came my Fine Tip Glue pen and a sprinkle of gold glitter to the rescue.

I hope you like my cards today.  As the holiday catalog retires, we demonstrators have already seen the new Occasions and Sale-a-bration catalogs.  In fact, my pre-order should arrive today. Trust me when I say...you will LOVE these new catalogs! So many choices of great new stamp sets, beautiful paper, and lots and lots of bundles.  Bundles are 2 products sold as a set, and you save 15% if you buy them together.  If you don't already have a demonstrator, please email me or call me and I will be sure to mail your catalogs to you.

Until then, I wish you all a very Merry Christmas, and a safe, healthy and Happy New Year!
Blessings to you all!
